メキシコではVoIP禁止

スカイプをブロックしていた国ですが、VoIPサービスを禁止したそうです。電話代は貴重な収入源なんですね。

VoIPを提供しているキャリアも本当はやりたくないんでしょうね。

COFETEL (the Mexican FCC) closed down 13 VoIP companies who were operating without a proper carrier license.
Mexico is one of the countries where VoIP services are not very welcome. Why? making calls over the internet is cheap, especially for long distance phone calls.TELMEX (the main fixed) telco of Mexico is making $6800 million per quarter on domestic and international long distance telephony! Think I know now why VoIP is not very welcome in Mexico. Looks like Speedy Gonzales can't sell his regular phone yet!
